Fredagen bød på tørvejr og næsten 20 grader i luften, til de 2 én times frie træninger og i den første session fik Young Driver AMR slet ikke sat nogen tid, hvorimod Allan Simonsen Hankook Farnbacher teamet tiden 2:00.492.
I dagens anden session var begge danskere på banen og Young driver teamet satte tiden 2:01.081 og Hankook Farnbacher satte tiden 1:59.218.
Dominik Farnbacher har allerede sagt at teamets nye GTE pro Ferrari F458 Italia slet ikke har udnytte sit potentiale endnu, og det betyder at vi med rette kan forvente en masse af dem i løbet på søndag.
Young Driver AMR udnytter heller ikke deres Aston Martin endnu, og de har forhåbentlig fundet en masse tid i bilen hen over natten
LMP1 klassen blev ikke uventet en kamp imellem Rebellion Racing og Quifel-ASM Team, men jeg er helt ærlig forbavset over at Rebellion Racing med deres fabriks udviklede Toyota motor ikke bare kan køre fra de andre LMP1 teams. Det tyder ikke på at Toyota have lavet det helt rigtig, men motoren er jo også delvist en genbrugs motor fra den japanske GT serie.
Den bil alle havde set frem til at skulle nyde var den nye Aston Martin AMR-One, men den var slet ikke ude og køre i første session, og i den anden session var den kun ude på installations omgange, og er derfor ikke noteret for nogle tider.
Det er meget kritisk for Aston Martins LMP1 team at de ikke er mere klar til det her løb. Med det ambitionsniveau som de har meldt ud, er de i min optik langt bagefter tidsplanen.
LMP2 klassen domineres af Nissan og i første session var det TDS Racing og deres Oreca 03-Nissan der var hurtigst, i anden session var det Greaves Motorsport og deres Zytek Z11SN-Nissan der satte den bedste tid.
