 Will Power fra Team Penske Racing rider videre på den succesbølge som bærer ham frem i øjeblikket, og i går kørte han sig til pole position på Mid-Ohio banen.
På andenpladsen kom Dario Franchitti fra Target Chip Ganassi Racing, og han blev efterfulgt af KV Racing Technology's Takuma Sato der på tredjepladsen kunne smykke sig med titlen som hurtigste rookie kører. Ved siden af Takuma Sato er det Ryan Hunter-Reay fra Andretti Autosport der skal starte.
