Team Penske Racing køreren Ryan Briscoe satte den hurtigste tid i IndyCar Series deltagernes anden fri træning forud for løbet på Mid-Ohio, hvor han var 0,0087 sekund hurtigere end Dario Franchitti fra Target Chip Ganassi Racing.
PÅ tredje og fjerde pladserne kom henholdsvis E.J. Viso og Mario Moraes der begge kører for KV Racing Technology teamet, de to var 0,2709 og 0,3302 sekund fra Ryan Briscoe's første plads.
